Text in Translation - Title Ideas

1. The inequality between men and women in A Doll's House.

2. The equality between a married man and woman in A Doll's House.
I've been extremely interested in the purpose of this play and the message that Ibsen wanted to give, at first I thought it was a feminist approach and therefore in aid of women's rights but as time went on I realised that it was about human rights and not a specific gender. Although I realised this I still think the play makes comments on sensitive topics within society and one of them is the inequality between men and women, specifically within the Helmer household as the marriage is completely dominated by Torvald.

3. To what extent does the man have more dominance in a marriage over a woman?

4. To what extent does Torvald assert his dominance and degrade Nora in domestic life?

5. From a 'doll' to an independent woman: an analysis of the patriarchal household Nora lives in.

6. How does Torvald subject Nora to becoming his doll? An analysis of the patriarchal household and society in Ibsen's A Doll's House.

7. A man and his doll: An analysis of the affect of a patriarchal society on Nora Helmer in Ibsen's A Doll's House
I decided to take out Torvald's name from the question because I also wanted to include the power that Nora's father had over her as she discusses that she was his doll as well as the power Krugstad perhaps had over Nora. Therefore showing the patriarchal society as a whole and not just domestically within a household. But I definitely intend to include the main theme of equality within a marriage because that is extremely important in portraying a woman's role as one is allowed to see in detail how Torvald treats her and what he thinks of her, using this information to also understand the general society's attitude towards women.

8. A man and his doll: An analysis of the effect of a patriarchal society on women in Ibsen's A Doll's House
